Reduce reflections from water and glass

A CPL filters polarized light reflected fromnon-metallic surfaces. In practice, it can reduce glare on water, glass, shop windows and similar surfaces where reflections hide colour or detail.

This is especially useful by lakes or the sea, when shooting through glass, and whenever reflections distract from the subject.

Richer foliage and stronger sky contrast

Reducing reflections from leaves, grass and wet surfaces can reveal deeper, more natural-looking colour. In landscapes, a CPL can also darken blue skies and increase the visual contrast of clouds.

Polarization strength depends on light direction and is generally strongest around 90° to the sun.

Smooth polarization adjustment

The front section rotates, letting you continuously adjust the strength of the polarizing effect while watching reflections and colour change in the viewfinder or on the camera screen.

Optical coatings

Multi-layer anti-reflective coatings on the glass surfaces help preserve contrast, clarity and natural colour rendition.

A hydro- and oleophobic protective coating helps reduce the adhesion of moisture, grease and fingerprints.

For landscapes, architecture and products

The effect of a CPL cannot be fully recreated in post-production because it physically reduces selected reflections before they reach the camera. It is useful for water, foliage, glass, architecture, vehicles and product photography.
