ND4 – when a 2-stop reduction is useful

A light 2-stop reduction is useful when you want to keep a wider aperture and natural shutter speed in moderately bright conditions. It works well on overcast days, in bright interiors and for subtle exposure control.

For photography, the filter can also extend exposure times for water, moving people, clouds and other dynamic elements.

Fast exposure changes on set

MMS lets you swap one ND strength for another without threading filters on and off. The magnetic mount speeds up transitions between interiors and exteriors and helps when lighting changes quickly.

Neutral colour rendering

Irix Edge MMS filters use high-quality optical glass and coatings designed for faithful colour rendering. This helps keep the look consistent when changing ND strengths within the same production.

Optical glass and multilayer coatings

Both filter surfaces use multilayer anti-reflective coatings to support sharpness, contrast and clarity. A Nano coating on both sides helps repel contamination and makes cleaning easier.

Super Resistant – toughened glass for production work

SR – Super Resistantindicates toughened optical glass with increased resistance to mechanical damage, useful when filters are changed, handled and transported repeatedly.

Threadless design – only 5 mm thick

The filter has no conventional thread, keeping the profile very flat. Total thickness is approximately5 mmwhich also makes a multi-filter kit easier to store.

Stack MMS filters magnetically

The Irix Edge MMS system allows compatible filters to be stacked magnetically. You can combine ND with CPL or another MMS element when a shot calls for it.
