Pixel NDX400 filters are made of two high-quality polarizers with a high transmittance factor, whose mutual setting allows you to smoothly regulate the amount of light passing through them.

They allow you to extend the exposure time by up to 8 2/3 degrees (EV), which corresponds to the range of values ​​from ND2 to ND400. Thanks to the use of multi-layer anti-reflective layers, the use of this filter has no effect on the colors in the picture. 

Thanks to Pixel NDX400 filters it is possible to reduce the amount of light reaching the camera sensor. As a result, they allow you to slow down the shutter speed, for example, to blur water, ocean or clouds. 
They are also used to reduce depth of field in very bright lighting conditions.

For example, using the maximum value of the NDX400 filter results in extending the exposure time from 1 / 8000s to 1 / 40s while maintaining the same aperture and ISO value. In the case of an exposure time of 1 second and the same filter settings, the exposure time will be as much as 6 minutes 40 seconds!
