Effective UV cut for outdoor photography

The HD series uses High Density Sharp Cut UV Glass designed to absorb ultraviolet radiation while maintaining natural transmission of visible light. The filter can stay on the lens for everyday shooting as an additional protective barrier.

Chemically enhanced optical glass

The optical glass is chemically enhanced and, according to HOYA, is four times stronger than standard optical glass. The extra durability is useful for equipment that is frequently transported or used in demanding outdoor conditions.

16-layer HD multi-coating

The HD anti-reflective multi-coating has a total of 16 layers across both sides of the filter. Its surface repels water and oil and is resistant to scratches and stains, making routine cleaning easier.

Ultra-thin frame for wide-angle lenses

The low-profile HD frame is made from aluminum and is compatible with wide-angle lenses to help reduce vignetting. The glass is secured in the frame using high-pressure press technology.
