The Tokina ATX-i 11-16mm F2.8 CF is designed as an ultra-wide-angle zoom lens for APS-C DSLR cameras. It is currently the only wide-angle lens on the market with an aperture of f/2.8 for DSLR cameras of this specification.

Focal length of 11-16mm makes this lens a great choice as a complement to standard zoom lenses. The constant maximum aperture of f/2.8 throughout the focal range allows for excellent results in low-light conditions, better depth of field control, and handheld shooting while maintaining a reasonable size and weight. To achieve exceptional optical performance, the lens incorporates two aspherical elements and two low-dispersion elements to minimize distortions, spherical aberration, and astigmatism while achieving edge-to-edge resolution and high contrast.
It features an anti-reflective multi-layer coating for improved light transmission and minimal reflections, as well as a newly developed hydrophobic coating for easy cleaning and wiping of the front lens surface. The lens has a sturdy construction with metal parts and a refined exterior design that matches contemporary DSLR cameras . It also comes with an internal focus and zoom mechanism, maintaining its length during focusing and zooming, and allowing for the use of filters.
The lens is equipped with an internal Silent-Drive (SD-M) autofocus motor and a precise GMR sensor for fast and accurate autofocus. It has a one-touch focus clutch mechanism for easy switching between autofocus and manual focus.
