The quick connector made of durable aluminum replaces the original Nikkor 70-200 f2.8 VR or VRII lens mount. It allows you to attach the lens directly to the Arca-Swiss mounts without having to screw the foot to additional quick-mount plates. The quick-release coupling can be additionally secured against unwanted slipping out of the Arca-Swiss holder using special screws. It also has two female 1/4 "threads for mounting to quick couplings with other fastening standards.
