Quick navigation:
Key features of Irix lenses
Although Irix offers a wide selection of lenses with different parameters and possibilities, all of them share several features that make them a part of their family. Each lens (except the GFX version) is available in three mounting versions: Canon EF, Nikon F and Pentax K.
Thanks to the use of appropriate contact pins in their mount ring, they maintain full communication with your camera, allowing you to adjust the aperture value straight from the body. The parameters used during shooting are all saved in the EXIF data. The lenses are also fully compatible with P / A / S / M exposure modes.
Each model also uses a special sealing system in all the critical areas of its housing. It effectively shields the delicate optics against humidity, dust or sand. The focus ring locking mechanism is also an additional convenience - it successfully prevents it from moving accidentally while taking a photo.
The 11 and 15 mm models are available in two versions: Firefly, which has an extremely light body and an embossed focus ring, and Blackstone, made entirely of durable metal. The rest of the lenses feature the Dragonfly finish, which is distinguished by a reinforced internal structure and high scratch resistance.
