Irix Edge UV 95 mm – lens protection and a clear image

Irix Edge UV 95 mm is a protective UV filter for lenses with a Ø95 mm.

It reduces the influence of ultraviolet light, particularly in mountain and high-altitude photography, while adding a protective layer in front of the lens. Multi-layer anti-reflective coatings and a hydrophobic surface support clear image quality and easier outdoor use.

Reduce ultraviolet light

Ultraviolet light is invisible to the human eye, but under certain conditions – especially in mountains and at high altitude – it can affect image contrast and colour rendition. A UV filter helps limit this influence while preserving a natural-looking image.

Extra protection for the front element

The filter adds another protective layer in front of the lens. This is useful for travel and outdoor photography, where equipment is more exposed to dust, dirt, moisture and accidental contact.

Optical glass and anti-reflective coatings

The glass is treated with multi-layer anti-reflective coatings. The stated light transmission is 99.3%, allowing the filter to remain on the lens as everyday protection with minimal effect on exposure.
