Hard transition for clearly defined horizons

A Hard GND filter has a relatively short and distinct transition between the darkened and clear areas.

It works best with level or clearly defined horizons such as the sea, lakes, coastlines, open plains and similar landscapes.

GND4 – 2 EV reduction

The optical density is0.6with the darkest part reducing exposure by2 EV.

This helps retain detail in a bright sky without applying the same amount of darkening to the foreground.

Position the transition exactly where you need it

The rectangular format allows the filter to slide up and down inside the holder, so the transition line can be aligned precisely with the horizon.

For very uneven horizons such as mountains or forests, a softer Soft GND transition is usually easier to position naturally.

Optical glass and protective coatings

Both sides of the optical glass use multilayer anti-reflective coatings.

A hydrophobic Nano coating improves resistance to water and oily dirt and makes the filter easier to keep clean outdoors.

100 mm filter system

The filter measures100 × 150 mmand is compatible with theIrix Edge IFH-100and other suitable 100 mm filter holders.

Within a rectangular system, the GND can also be combined with a full ND filter and, in a suitable holder, a CPL polarizer.
