Irix Edge ND16 86 mm – 4-stop light control

Irix Edge ND16 86 mm – neutral density filter 4 stops is a screw-in neutral density filter for lenses with a Ø86 mm filter thread. Optical density 1.2 corresponds to a 4-stop reduction in light.

ND16 – 4 stops of light reduction

A full ND filter darkens the entire frame evenly. ND16 reduces light by 4 stops, giving more freedom to choose shutter speed and aperture.

When should you use ND16?

• longer shutter speeds in bright daylight
• smoothing flowing water
• shallow depth of field in strong light

Longer exposures and creative motion

Reducing incoming light makes longer shutter speeds possible and lets motion become part of the image. The final effect depends on ambient light, ISO, aperture and shutter speed.
