HOYA Instant Action Adapter 55 mm – fast magnetic filter mounting

The HOYA Instant Action 55 mm Adapter Ring is part of a quick-change filter system. The adapter stays screwed onto the lens, while a filter fitted with the separately sold Conversion Ring can be attached magnetically in one move.

How the Instant Action system works

Screw the Adapter Ring onto the lens, screw the separately sold HOYA Instant Action Conversion Ring onto a standard filter, then connect the two parts magnetically.

      Compatibility and vignetting

This adapter is intended for lenses with a 55 mm filter thread. Because the combined system increases the frame thickness, HOYA notes a vignetting risk with very wide lenses below about 14 mm on APS-C and 20 mm on full frame.

      Aluminum and magnetic construction

The adapter uses an aluminum body with a magnetic element designed to work with the HOYA Instant Action Conversion Ring, speeding up filter changes without repeated screwing and unscrewing.
