Dragonfly – durable construction without sacrificing ergonomics

TheDragonflyseries combines a reinforced metal inner structure with lightweight composite parts. It develops the Irix concept by blending the handling and sensible weight associated with Firefly with the robust build and refined finish associated with Blackstone.

Dragonfly hallmarks include a scratch-resistant finish, a non-slip focus ring, engraved UV-reactive markings and seals that help protect the optics from dust and moisture.

30mm f/1.4 – a wide view with a cine-inspired character

The Irix 30mm f/1.4 uses an optical design derived from the Cine version. A30mmfocal length, fastf/1.4aperture and approximately61.9°angle of view make it versatile for reportage, landscapes, interiors and astrophotography.

The optical formula uses13 elements in 11 groupsincluding 3 ED, 2 HR and 1 aspherical element. Distortion is around0.95%. The 11 rounded aperture blades work from f/1.4 to f/16.

Reportage, landscapes, interiors and night work

30mm shows more context than a standard 50mm prime while remaining more natural than an extreme ultra-wide. The f/1.4 aperture is especially valuable indoors, at night and for astrophotography.

Manual focus, Focus Lock and precise control

Irix Dragonfly photo lenses are designed for deliberate manual focusing. The wide textured ring gives a secure grip, whileFocus Locklets you lock a selected distance – useful for landscapes, astrophotography, product work and tripod shooting.

Manual focus with electronic convenience

Although focusing is manual, the lens includes electronics. They providecamera-controlled apertureP/A/S/M modes, exposure data recorded inEXIFand electronic focus confirmation.

Nikon F – Nikon DSLRs and Z cameras via FTZ

This version uses theNikon F mountfor Nikon DSLRs. It can also be used on Nikon Z mirrorless cameras via theFTZ or FTZ IIadapter.

Built for field use

Sealed construction and internal focusing help reduce the ingress of dust and moisture. Dragonfly is designed for regular work both in the studio and outdoors.

The 86mm thread accepts screw-in filters, while Irix Edge IFH-100 / IFH-100-PRO holders enable square filter use.
