Canon RF – native mount

This version uses a nativeCanon RF mountfor RF cameras. It is a dedicated mount version rather than an EF lens used through an adapter.

Imperial – scale in feet and inches

TheImperialversion uses a focusing distance scale infeet and inches. Optics and mechanics are the same as the Metric version; only the scale units differ.

Full Frame coverage and a natural wide perspective

The Irix Cine 21mm T1.5 coversFull Frame. The image circle is 43.3 mm and the horizontal field of view on Full Frame is approximately79.4°. For this version and its typical sensor format:79.4° on Full Frame.

Modern 15-element optical design

The optical design uses15 elements in 11 groupsincluding four ED, four HR and two aspherical elements. It is optimized for high sharpness, low aberrations and distortion, and a consistent cinematic character.

T1.5–T16 with 11 rounded blades

The iris adjusts smoothly fromT1.5 to T16and uses11 rounded blades. T1.5 supports low-light shooting and deliberate depth-of-field control.

Fully manual cine operation

Focus and aperture are controlled mechanically on the lens.The lens has no electronics and no communication with the camera bodygiving the operator direct, repeatable control.

Very low focus breathing

Focus breathing is kept very low, so framing changes only minimally during focus pulls.

Internal focusing

Focusing does not change the lens length or rotate the front section. This helps maintain balance and makes working with matte boxes, follow focus systems and stabilizers easier.

180° focus throw and Mod 0.8 gears

The focus ring rotates through180°and the iris ring through approximately75°. Both use standardMod 0.8cine gears.

Filtering the Irix Cine 21mm – cine system instead of direct MMS

The Irix Cine 21mm T1.5has no conventional front filter thread and does not accept Irix Edge MMS filters directly. Irix specifies direct Edge MMS use for the 15, 30, 45 and 150 mm lenses. With the 21 mm, use a suitable matte box or dedicated filter solution.

95 mm – cine accessory standard

The external front diameter is95 mmsupporting straightforward integration with professional matte boxes and other cine accessories.

Weather sealing and UV markings

This mount version uses4 weather-sealing points. Laser-engraved markings filled with UV-reactive paint remain easier to read in low light.

Dimensions and weight of this version

TheCanon RFversion measures approximately124 × 95 mmand weighs approximately1211 gwithout accessories. Similar dimensions and standardized gear positions across the Cine range simplify lens changes on rigs and gimbals.
