The Samyang T3.1 14mm ED AS IF UMC is based on the optical construction of the Samyang 14mm f2.8 ED AS IF UMC and follows the styling of the brand’s latest products. Its speed is specified as a T-stop of T3.1. Distinctive features include geared rings compatible with follow-focus systems and a continuously rotating aperture ring. These modifications allow exceptionally precise and silent control of focus and depth of field while filming.
Optical construction and image quality
The Samyang features stepless aperture control, while its optical construction is based on 14 elements in 12 groups. It includes one ED element and two aspherical elements, one hybrid and one conventional. All elements are coated with high-quality new-generation UMC anti-reflective coatings (Ultra Multi Coated). This optical design and the use of high-quality materials ensure that images recorded with the lens are of very high quality.
