The Samyang T-S 24mm f/3.5 ED AS UMC is a wide-angle prime lens for 35 mm cameras with perspective and depth-of-field adjustment.
The optical and mechanical construction allows independent shifting of the optical axis and tilting of the focus plane. Combined with the rotation function of the Tilt-Shift section, this provides virtually unlimited possibilities for shaping perspective and depth of field. The Samyang Tilt-Shift is not only an excellent tool for architecture and landscape photography, but also an endless source of inspiration for ambitious photographers for whom a unique perspective, a deliberately positioned focus plane or correction of converging lines can become new ways of expressing emotion in photography.

The lens’s shift and tilt functions allow smooth adjustment of the focus-plane angle from –8.5 to +8.5 degrees, as well as parallel shifting of the optical axis by ±12 mm. The separate shift and tilt sections can be rotated relative to each other to the left by 30, 60 or 90 degrees. Independently, the lens mount itself can also be rotated to the right by ±90 degrees, likewise in 30-degree increments.

The wide range of applications of a Tilt-Shift lens required a complex optical design based on high-quality elements. For this reason, the Samyang T-S 24mm uses as many as 16 elements in 11 groups. These include two aspherical elements (ASP) that reduce spherical aberration and two low-dispersion glass elements (ED) that minimise chromatic aberration. This construction provides very good detail reproduction and smooth bokeh characteristic of high-class lenses. Each element is coated with multi-layer UMC anti-reflective coatings that ensure excellent light transmission, high contrast and faithful colour reproduction.
