Sony E – native mount

This version uses a nativeSony Emount. The Irix Cine 65mm T1.5 is also offered in other mounts, allowing the lens to be matched directly to the camera system used on set.

Metric – focus scale in metres

The Metric version uses a focusing-distance scale in metres. Optically it is identical to the Imperial version, which uses feet and inches.

Full-frame coverage and 8K-ready optics

The lens coversFull Framewith a 43.3mm image circle. Its optical design is prepared for high-resolution capture, including Ultra HD 8K productions.

65mm – portraits, narrative work and cinematic compression

The horizontal angle of view on full frame is approximately31°. A 65mm focal length gives a comfortable working distance while gently compressing perspective, helping guide attention toward the subject and important scene details.

12 elements in 9 groups

The optical design uses12 elements in 9 groupsincluding 2 HR, 2 ED and 1 ASP element. It is optimized for high detail, low aberrations and low distortion.

T1.5–T16 and 11 rounded iris blades

The stepless iris operates fromT1.5 to T16and uses11 rounded blades. T1.5 supports low-light shooting and strong depth-of-field control, while the 11-blade design helps create smooth bokeh.

Fully manual cine design – no electronics

Focus and iris are controlled mechanically on the lens. There is no electronic body control, autofocus or EXIF communication, giving the operator direct and repeatable control during a take.

Internal focusing and very low focus breathing

Internal focusing means the lens does not change length and the front does not rotate while focusing. Very low focus breathing also minimizes framing changes during focus pulls.

180° focus, 75° iris and Mod 0.8 gears

The focus ring rotates through180°while the iris ring rotates about75°. Both use standardMod 0.8cine gears for manual or motorized follow-focus systems.

Irix MMS – rapid magnetic filter changes

The front uses theMagnetic Mount System – MMScompatible withIrix Edge MMSfilters. Available types include UV, CPL, ND, Vari ND and Black Mist, and the magnetic connection makes filter changes fast on set.

86mm filter thread and 95mm front diameter

The lens also provides a standard86 × 1.0mmfilter thread. The external front diameter is95mmmaking integration with matte boxes and other cine accessories straightforward.

Weather sealing and UV-reactive markings

The aluminium-magnesium housing is designed for demanding production use. This version has4 rubber O-rings. Laser-engraved markings filled with UV-reactive paint remain easier to read in low light.

Consistent operation across the Irix Cine family

Gear positions, ring layout and the 95mm front standard are aligned across the Irix Cine family. Similar dimensions and a consistent image character help make focal-length changes without major rig, follow-focus or gimbal adjustments.
