Pixel NDX400 filters are constructed from two high-quality polarizers with a high transmission coefficient, allowing smooth adjustment of the light passing through them. They enable extending exposure time by up to 8 2/3 stops (EV), covering a range from ND2 to ND400. Thanks to multi-coated anti-reflective layers, using this filter does not affect the colours in your photos. With Pixel NDX400 filters, you can reduce the amount of light reaching the camera sensor. As a result, they allow longer shutter speeds to create effects such as water, ocean, or cloud blur. They are also used to reduce depth of field in very bright lighting conditions. For example, using the maximum NDX400 filter value extends the exposure time from 1/8000s to 1/40s while maintaining the same aperture and ISO settings. At an initial exposure time of 1 second, the same filter settings can increase exposure time to 6 minutes and 40 seconds!
