32 layers and an ultra-hard nano coating

A total of32 anti-reflective coating layersare applied to both sides of the glass. According to HOYA, the HD nano MkII coating is up to800% more scratch resistantthan commonly used coatings. Its smooth surface is water and oil repellent as well as stain resistant.

Reinforced UV-cut optical glass

The chemically strengthened optical glass is approximatelyfour times strongerthan normal optical glass. It provides UV-cut capability and helps reduce haze or bluish cast where UV light can affect the image. Light transmission is98.8%.

Low-profile aluminum frame

The lightweight, slim aluminum frame reduces the risk of vignetting on wide-angle lenses. The glass is secured using high-pressure press technology. The52 mmversion is designed for lenses with a 52 mm filter thread.
