The primary purpose of UV filters is to eliminate ultraviolet radiation. This leads to high-contrast images and faithful color reproduction. These filters also work very well as protection for the lens against external factors that could cause damage or dirt. Samyang filters are made from high-quality optical glass from the SCHOTT group, similar to the well-known and respected B+W filters. To ensure high light transmission, they are coated with eight layers of UMC anti-reflective coating. The precisely finished filter surface increases resistance to reflections.
